Hi pastor Bernie,

My name is Ingemar Sluis and I am a member of the sda-church Ebenezer in Curacao, West Indies, Caribbean.

Last year we inougurated (officially) men ministry in our church. We held our first retreat during the week-end of September 26th - 28th. And this year January 9 and 10 our conference held our first meeting for all the brothers of our conference. We had dr Kevin Jenkins from New Jersey as our guest speaker.

Since I wath your interview with pastor Tucker in Lifestyle magazine I was not only impressed by it but also a desire was born to someday invite you to our conference to share the important topic (porno addiction) with the brothers of our conference.

I just browse your schedulle and I would like to know if you would be available January 8 - 10, 2010. We already have an setup that I would like to discuss with you.

But first let me know if you are available and what are the requisitions we need to take into concideration. I will you sent a tentative schedulle for discussion and present a proposal to the board for approval.

I wait for prompt reply.

Your brother in Christ,

Ingemar Sluis

Remember your "boat" sermon well. Happened to be blessed to be there on that Sabbath. Glad to know of this website. Just read about it in the newsletter that comes to our address here in Simi Valley, CA. In case you don't remeber who we are. We are the skiers who have been coming there for 25 years but just a week here or there during the year. God bless you and the whole church family at Wasatch Hills.

LifeChurchTV is a great place for beginners to the faith, at least that's what I thought when I first studied with them and others like them. However, as you dive deeper into God's Word, their unbiblical beliefs really start to scream "come out of Babylon!" They offer a lot of encouragement and they are non-judgmental, but that comes largely from the belief stated on their beliefs page that they give believers personal freedom to interpret scripture however they see fit. So, basically it embraces the post-modernism we have been hearing so much about.

I think the list of what visitors want and don't want was "right on" and to add to it, I think that they come in also to see what we're all about and to see if we are living what we preach. Warm smiles and genuine kindness go so far when meeting visitors to show them the love of Christ. Also, with so many people getting information off the internet, they probably have googled what we believe and are coming to see if we live up to the Biblical standards they've learned about via the internet. Seriously, I have met several people who came to me with questions after googling SDA doctrine. So I think it is important for us to be practicing what we preach and try to be that light and example that God has called us to be. Christ is looking for a church without spot and without wrinkle, and perhaps we need to "do some laundry" and prayerfully humble ourselves and admit that the church has strayed in some areas. I know that's what we need in our personal lives, but we also need it in the church. I know you said that you want to preach love and let Christ do the rest, but I just know that the Holy Spirit will aid you in your efforts to preach the second half (as I call it) which is the love/obedience part. I just feel that your last sermon was the perfect platform to begin to explain that connection. There is so much scripture to back it up, and as a parent, like we discussed, we always have our children's best interests at heart for the rules we give them. I love how Doug Batchelor always says "It's the 10 Commandments, not the 10 suggestions." LOL : ) I was so motivated by your last sermon to really reach out to people with the cross in mind at all times. I don't have "Gospel Workers", but I obviously need to get a copy! With Pres. Obama calling people to service in the world, my heart was really moved to get out and do what Jesus commanded that we do in preaching and teaching. Community service is a great way to show our love of Christ and for a world dying and in desperate need of truth. With Love in Christ, See ya Sabbath! : )

Hey Bernie, I thought you'd like to see this. My grandparents think the world of you and your name has been mentioned several times these past 2 weeks. My grandpa got sick over a month ago and passed away yesterday.

I've read your book - very brave and honest. I am proud of you and your fight!
